Here are some of the home treatments that can be done easily and can be found in your kitchen cabinet.
Yogurt contains excellent skin hydrating properties. It not only helps in terminating the dryness but also helps in removing that nasty tan that refuses to leave. 1 tablespoon of thick yogurt will suffice the requirement. Apply it with the help of your finger or a brush and allow it to rest for 20-25 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with cold water. Moisturize as usual.
Banana helps in moisturizing the skin and leaves your skin supple and softer than ever. Mash a ripe banana with the help of a fork or blend it well. Ensure that there are no chunks. Apply it on your face and neck with the help of a brush and let it set for minimum 20 minutes. Wash off with cold water and experience the difference.
3. Lemon & Honey
Lemon and honey are a perfect synonym of glowing skin. Lemon helps in removing the tan while honey nourishes the skin. It is a perfect face mask for instant results. Mix equal proportions of lemon juice and honey and apply it on the face and skin. Allow it to rest for 15 minutes then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Moisturize as usual.
4. Cocoa Powder
Cocoa powder provides glow to the skin and helps in soothing skin irritation. It is crucial to remember that too much cocoa powder can leave the color. Thus, try taking required amount. This face pack is effective for dry skin. Mix 1 tablespoon of ground oats, ½ tablespoon of cocoa powder and 1 tablespoon of thick cream. Mix the ingredients well and let it stay for 20 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.
Note: Replace thick cream with rosewater for oily skin.
5. Honey & Turmeric
Turmeric contains excellent healing properties and acts as an antiseptic. Prepare a thick paste by mixing a ½ tablespoon of turmeric powder with 1 tablespoon of honey. Apply it well on the skin and let it stay for 20 minutes. Wash off with lukewarm water. Ensure to wash that mask thoroughly because turmeric tends to stain.
6. Milk & White Bread
Milk helps in improving the skin color and bread helps in soothing the skin as well as removing the tan. Cut the brown corner of the bread and soak the white part in milk. Mash it with the help of a fork and create a thick paste. Apply it on the skin and let it sit for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes start massaging in circular motions with the mask on. Massage gently for 5-10 minutes and wash off afterward.
Eggs add protein to your skin which makes your skin bouncy and soft. Use whole egg for normal skin, egg yolk for dry skin, and egg white for oily skin. Whisk it well and apply it on the skin and neck. Rinse the mask thoroughly after 30 minutes.
Tomato helps in brightening the skin and provides instant results. To freshen up and brighten the skin instantly, squeeze 1 tomato and apply the pulp on the face. Let it to sit for 25 minutes. Rinse with cold water to gain instant results.
9. Honey & Papaya
This face pack is great for hyper-pigmentation and skin spots. Take half cup of mashed papaya and mix it with 2 tablespoons of honey. Apply it on the face and let it sit for 20 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water.
10. Sandalwood Powder
Sandalwood powder contains great soothing properties and helps in making your skin glow. Form a thick paste by mixing 1 tablespoon of rosewater and ¼ tsp of sandalwood powder. Apply this pack on your face and allow it to dry. Wash off with cold water and moisturize as usual.
